"Never in life was I more wrong than when I thought I could stop drinking and using drugs on my own. I checked into New Perceptions by the force of my family, and when I did I was a wreck. I immediately liked the intimacy of the facility, the staff also helped me feel at home. They did not pressure me into obeying the rules. They just took some of my basic freedoms from me like when to go to bed and when to get up, no cell and a few other no's. The food was pretty good, and I was not beat up if I felt the need to crawl back in bed. The days are not overloaded with too many meetings . They give you a lot of structured self time to help you focus and look at the damage you are doing to yourself. It was a real wake up call for me. They offered me some great tools that helped me to see how bad my life had become in my addiction. Here I got to do a lot of private, writing about my drug use which was very beneficial. I could not go to work and stay focused longer than an hour without needing to get loaded again. New Perceptions was the 3rd treatment center I had been to. I was able to relax at this place and get the message. The staff was very caring, and the work they had me do was eye opening. I did not like being in an environment that force feeds you, this was not the case here. Everyone at New Perceptions treated you like you were someone they really cared about. Plus the facility has two tv rooms so I did not have to watch what I did not want to see on TV, the back yard has a nice pool a small workout area, and a basketball court and lots of places to isolate and relax your mind. I was really able to get a better focus on my life at New Perceptions. I had relapsed so many times I was beginning to see rehabs as a waste of time and I was not interested in being there This place really worked for me. Today thanks to New Perceptions I'm over 7 years drugs free. New Perceptions really did help me stop the madness in my life." |
